I explore rugged and uncertain design terrain using numerical modeling and deep knowledge of traditional and emerging fabrication technologies.

I’m a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Intitute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart, Germany where I develop soft electrostatic transducers. I hold a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I explored the computational design of soft structures in the Matter Assembly Computation Lab.

I’ve learned medical device design at Triple Ring Technologies in Newark, California, and consulted for years as a numerical modeling specialist with FPrin.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and trail running around Stuttgart, cluttering my apartment with trinkets, and playing billiards.
