Large Rotating Photo Stand

I designed and built this rotating photography stand to smoothly rotate large, heavy objects so they can be photographed from multiple angles. The mechanical design uses laser-cut MDF, commodity hardware, 3D printed components, and an Arduino microcontroller.

The stand is equipped with an infrared LED, which can be used to trigger a photo capture on any DSLR camera, allowing you to capture a full 360 view of your subject at precisely defined increments! All files and build instructions are on my Thingiverse account.
